Welcome to GrowinGreen’s newly designed website as well as, Clover’s blog! If you have been looking for a local resource for growing a healthier, greener, and more vibrant lawn in North Carolina, this blog is for you! But I’m guessing you may wish to learn a little about me, and why in the world a lawn service would name their blog after a weed? Well, that’s not entirely the case but lets get started so that you may better understand what I’m talking about.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Jonathan Rigsbee and I am the owner of GrowinGreen, Inc., a professional lawn service located in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. Like many business owners, I started my business because I felt that I could do it better than the companies that I had worked for previously. I worked in various parts of the industry prior to starting GrowinGreen. This included sales, managing the wild flower program for part of the state of NC, working as a landscape contractor, and holding various positions with multiple national companies. I received a degree in Horticulture from Forsyth Tech and then transferred to NC State in hopes of being a golf course superintendent. Needless to say, the lawn care industry has been my home for most of the last 20+ years. I’ve had the opportunity to meet a lot of great people and see every side of this business from the bottom up! GrowinGreen, Inc. was founded in 1999 with one employee and myself, today we proudly have 17 full-time employees, a state of the art facility, and a future that holds unlimited potential for our customers, employees, environment and community! Now, let me introduce a very important part of my team, Clover! (the dog, not the weed) Clover is one of our family’s three rescued dog’s. Sometimes I wonder if Clover rescued us instead of the other way around. And, I’m sure you’re wondering why a dog is writing the blog? Well, it is very simple. The question we get the most is, “Are your treatment’s safe for my animals?” I wanted this blog to be a champion of why it’s ok to Love Your Lawn again and how you can have a healthy, sustainable lawn that is in harmony with people and pets. Clover represents the proverbial saying, “put your money where your mouth is”, because anything we put on a customer’s lawn, you can bet was put on Clover’s lawn first! You’ll notice Clover’s new signature paw print at the bottom. This will let everyone know it has her environmentally pet-friendly paw of approval on it!
While there are quite possibly other aspects of your outdoor living space that give you more enjoyment, most people will agree that having a beautiful lawn is the frame that really brings it all together. And nothing adds to the health benefits of your property more than a living, breathing, vibrant stand of lush turf. More on that in future posts.
Our business is to stay on top of your lawn so that you don’t have to. I hope this blog becomes a great source for you. We find that some folks will take their lawn for granted, right up until it’s too late. For instance, they wait until there is a special event happening with friends or family and they want their home looking its best – that is when we come to the rescue.
